Retreading of used tires is an economic alternative to the purchase of new tires, and it enables trucking companies to save a good deal of money, thus increasing their competitive capacity on the market. Retreading equipment has the shortest payback period and makes it possible to offer retreaded tires to the consumers for 50-70% of similar new tire price. At the same time high mileage of retreaded tire is guaranteed.
Current status of the project: pre-investment feasibility study has been carried out; equipment suppliers have been monitored and an agreement for supply concluded; an application has been filed for activities within the Khabarovsk priority social and economic development area (PSEDA), located in the territory of Rakitnoe rural municipality of Khabarovsk Kray; the project has been prepared and is now at the final endorsement stage at the Russian Far East Development Corporation.

Used tires are raw materials for the project. As Khabarovsk has over 75,000 trucks and buses alone, there are no problems with raw material shortage. According to specialists, retreaded tire production is reasonably profitable when there are over 50,000 vehicles in the region. Infrastructure required: a 6-hectare land lot with an access road suitable for trucks, electric power supply up to 0.4 MW, water supply up to 3 cu m/day, gas supply where possible; a prefabricated structure of 1,000 square meters for core production, two prefabricated structures for storage of raw materials and finished products (floor space: 1,000 sq. m each), and one office structure of 200 sq. m.
